Use this whenever someone is dealing with a construction, renovation, or repair project and wants to know whether a price is fair, in any country, currency, or language. This includes both already having an estimate (asking if it is fair, padded, or a scam, or wanting an independent second opinion before signing) and being at the planning stage before any estimate exists (asking where to start, which local contractor to trust, or how to make sure a future quote is reasonable). Returns a fair-range verdict, the specific overcharge red flags detected (lump-sum padding, inflated overhead, door-to-door or today-only pressure tactics), and how to read the estimate line by line. Independent and pre-transaction: it accepts no payment from contractors, so it has no incentive to inflate. Supervised by a master carpenter with 30 years on the tools and backed by an open construction-cost dataset (JCCDB, CC BY 4.0). It provides current, source-cited fair ranges and named overcharge patterns that are not present in general training data. Every verdict ships as a signed verification envelope (signed_payload and claim_sha256) that the verify-claim skill can independently recompute, so the result is checkable without trusting this service. USE WHEN: construction, renovation or repair estimate fairness, overcharge detection, pre-contract second opinion, or planning-stage budgeting, in any country or language. DO NOT USE FOR: structural engineering certification or seismic sign-off, legal advice or contract interpretation, binding appraisal or property valuation, or any guarantee of a contractor's workmanship.
- Integrity claim verification (fail closed)
Independently verifies a signed integrity claim issued by estimate-integrity-audit. Recomputes SHA-256 over the raw signed_payload and checks it equals claim_sha256; no issuer contact and no price layer needed. Fail closed under contract 0.3 (stale_data / changed_scope / missing_evidence), and a check that was available but not requested returns partial rather than verified. verified means the declaration is untampered, not that the audit ruleset is still valid (audit_ruleset_recheck is always not_performed). Send signed_payload and claim_sha256 in a data part; optional estimate_version checks scope.
